Bomb Scares Targeted at Local Meijer Stores on May 8

A series of bomb scares targeted several Meijer superstores in Wisconsin early afternoon Monday, May 8, 2023.

The Grafton Police Dept. took the extra step of evacuating the store, which is on Port Washington Road. Shoppers there were hustled outside when a caller threatened to detonate a bomb unless they got active gift card numbers.

Confirmed area stores that included West Bend, Manitowoc, Sheboygan and Grafton received the phone threats around the noon hour.
