Cedarburg Area High Schools Rank High in National Report

Published in the most recent 2021 US News & World Report were the rankings of the Top 8 Best High Schools in the Milwaukee Metro area.

Cedarburg High School (CHS) ranked 4th with a 97 percent graduation rate and a 68.0 college readiness rate with 1,107 students enrolled in 9th to 12th grade.

The top 3 spots ahead of CHS were the High School of Sciences in Wales, WI at the top spot with a 100% graduation rate, and a 77% college readiness rate with 173 enrolled in 9th to 12th grade. Whitefish Bay High School and New Berlin Eisenhower were 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Other Ozaukee County high schools who placed in the Top 50 were Grafton High School (GHS) at 9th place, Port Washington High School at 23rd place and Mequon Homestead High School at 40th place.

According to the U.S. News & World Reports, the highest ranked U.S. public schools are those whose students demonstrated outstanding outcomes above expectations in math and reading state assessments, earned qualifying scores in an array of college-level exams, and graduated in high proportions.

In coordination with North Carolina-based RTI International, a global nonprofit social science research firm, U.S. News ranked approximately 17,860 public high schools out of the nearly 24,000 reviewed. This is the count of public high schools that had a 12th grade enrollment of 15 or greater, or otherwise had sufficient enrollment in other high school grades during the 2018-2019 school year to be analyzed.

CHS ranked 330th place in national rankings, while GHS was ranked in 567th place.
