Southern Ozaukee County High Schools All Qualify for State Football Playoffs

Area prep football fans will be extra busy this year as the WIAA high school boys football state playoffs will kick off this week Friday, Oct. 22, 2021.

All three Cedarburg Area Insider (CAI) Land teams qualified for the state playoffs:this year - Mequon Homestead, Grafton, and Cedarburg. Plus, to the north, Port Washington, Ozaukee and Belgium-Cedar Grove high schools got the nod.

In the Division 2 bracket, Mequon Homestead received a #1 seed and will host #8 Brookfield Central. If the Highlanders are victorious in their matchup, they will play the winner of the Milwaukee King versus Nicolet matchup.

The Cedarburg Bulldogs received a #2 seeding in the Division 2 bracket and will host a game against #7 Slinger. If the Bulldogs win, they will play the winner of the Pulaski versus West De Pere matchup.

The Grafton Blackhawks received a #4 seed in the Division 3 bracket and will host a game against #5 Pewaukee. If the Blackhawks are victorious, they will play the winner of the Milwaukee Madison versus Plymouth matchup.

The Port Washington Pirates were named a #3 seed in the Division 3 bracket, and will host a game against #5 Wisconsin Lutheran. If the Pirates win, they will play the winner of the Whitefish Bay versus New Berlin West game.
