Cedarburg Police Chase in Downtown Area on June 14, 2021
A few Cedarburg residents posted on Facebook this morning (June 14) at about 9:00-9:30 a.m. that they learned of a police incident involving two suspects in a vehicle that crashed at the intersection of Columbia Road and Mequon Avenue after a chase by.the Cedarburg Police Department. The Cedarburg Fire Department, which is 1/2 block north on Mequon Avenue, was also dispatched to the scene.
One of the suspects, the driver of the vehicle, fled on foot as police officers yelled out. The police apprehended the passenger suspect inside the vehicle.
CPD apparently utilized a drone and a police canine to help search for the driver suspect on foot. The driver suspect was apparently located a short time later.
Cedarburg resident Becky Bauer Zrinsky posted on Facebook that their security camera captured the incident, and that police officers were heard yelling out when the driver suspect took off on foot.
Also, resident Diane Tesker was listening on the Ozaukee County channel of the app Broadcastify, and posted that it sounded like the CPD had apprehended the driver and the passenger suspects now.
