☆ Verbosity Bookhouse (Port Washington): Melissa Kassens opened this independent bookstore in downtown Port Washington (123 N. Franklin St.) in mid-March 2026, in the former Port’s Artisan Market space. It hosted a ribbon-cutting and emphasizes community events, workshops, master classes, and a welcoming space for reading, writing, art, and more. ☆ Pompette Crêperie and Café (Cedarburg): Local couple Sam Cox and Amy Herbst Cox are opening this made-to-order crepe spot in the former Sunshine Winery space (downtown, just south of Sal’s Pizza). It will serve sweet/savory crepes, soups, treats, coffee/tea, and a late-day light menu with wine. A Class B beer/Class C wine license was approved; opening was anticipated for early 2026.
